Nancy I. Parks, 77, of Sullivan, passed away at 9:25 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015, in St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery in Sullivan.
Nancy was born September 4, 1938 in Omega, a daughter of Douglas and Eileen Holzhausen Marlow. She married Tom Parks June 15, 1957 in Tuscola, and he survives. She worked as a secretary at the General Telephone Company and First United Methodist Church. She was a librarian at Sullivan High School and was an Avon sales woman for more than 30 years. She was a member of First Christian Church in Sullivan. Nancy enjoyed traveling; she was an avid sports fan and always made sure she made it to her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events throughout the years. He passed away at 9:15 p.m. Monday, September 7, 2015 in Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital in Coles County.
Ray was born March 15, 1948 in Decatur, a son of Henry Walter and Arvilla Fern Wickiser Shain. He married Earletta Marie Lane July 6, 1973 in Sullivan, and she preceded him in death October 6, 2010. Ray was the chief water plant operator for the city of Sullivan and retired after 33 years. He was a member of the NHRA, NRA, EPA Quarters Hundred Club, Ramblin Misfits Car Club in Decatur, Upholstery Union and the Illinois Foster Parents Association. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sullivan. He was an avid car guy and enjoyed drag racing. Read More

Julia was born March 27, 1939, in Decatur, a daughter of Victor and Katherine Funk Walters. She graduated from Parkland College with a veterinarian tech degree and worked for several veterinarians throughout her life. She enjoyed many hobbies such as decorating cakes, sewing and showing dogs. She was quite creative in designing flower gardens. She loved her family and her dogs and attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Julia married Kenneth Merlin Howard of Dalton City December 28, 1958, and he preceded her in death in 1996.
