Illinois Department of Insurance (DOI) Director Anne Melissa Dowling, today announced the Illinois Health Insurance Marketplace (IHIM), also known as Get Covered Illinois (GCI), will be administered by the department beginning August 1.
“The Department of Insurance welcomes the Illinois Health Insurance Marketplace as its new home. This move will streamline program processes, improve efficiency, and align services leading to increased access to health coverage for Illinoisans,” said Director Dowling. “Consolidating Marketplace activities under a Division at the Department will promote a potential path to long term operational sustainability for Illinois to continue as a Partnership Marketplace.”     Login or Subscribe to read the rest of this story.
