Jim Braet and Cara Scher will portray Emile de Becque and Nellie Forbush in The Little Theatre—On The Square’s last production of the summer, South Pacific, which opens Wednesday.
First place winners in the Moultrie-Sullivan Fair’s arts and crafts show are Mary VanDuersen, Chris Sweet, Meghan Murphy, Christine Marshall, Charity Beachy (three), Cassandra Jackson, Ross Haverstock, Meg Reedy, Sarah Jackson, Joey Schaljo, Erin Parsons, Sarah Osman (three), Elizabeth Livingston, Stephen Smith, Krista Stinson, Nicole McCabe, Alyssa Gilmore and Kim Voegel.
On September 24, 1966, East Central Illinois voters gave their approval by more than four to one to create Lake Land College. For 25 years, students have found success at their community college. Lake Land College is proud to continue this tradition of success.
With over 150 participants, the US Army Corps of Engineers has declared the 1991 Water Follies a big success. Games were held at the Sullivan Beach, Dam West and the Wilborn Creek Beach with local participants placing in events at Wilborn. Julie Johnston and April Grady of Sullivan won the sink fast competition with a time of 17.78 seconds. Bill and Brandon Grady of Sullivan tied for third place in the sand sculpture contest with their sculpture of a fish and fishing pole.
