ALAH FFA Greenhands Attend U of I Conference
•October 5, 2016•
Brennen Key and Clayton Young of the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond FFA Chapter attended the Greenhand conference at the University of Illinois September 21. The leadership conference focused on first year FFA members from 45 chapters around the state.
First year FFA members, also known as Greenhands, participated in a series of three hands-on workshops that centered on the Road to Success: Heart, Brain, and Courage theme. Students were encouraged to consider their passions and to discover how FFA involvement and academic achievement can equip them to achieve their dreams. When asked what their favorite part of the conference was, Young said meeting other FFA members and Key liked learning about all the different areas of the FFA and what FFA offers to its members.
The workshop was hosted by the University of Illinois Agricultural Education Program, Collegiate FFA Chapter, and Ag Ed Club.
