Loy Benefit Sept. 22
A benefit is set for September 22 at the Sullivan American Legion for Paula Loy, who has been fighting breast and bone cancer for four years. The cancer has since progressed to her brain, and though no more treatments are being sought, the benefit looks to raise money to help allow Loy a suitable stay at her home.
The benefit will kickoff at 1 p.m., with a card gun raffle-riffle starting shortly thereafter.
An auction will then begin at 2 p.m. with the following items and more to be featured: 100 gallons of propane, Agri-Fab Chip-n-Vac fully assembled, airplane ride, flat screen TV, custom made fishing rod, Illini football tickets, Cub-Cardinal tickets, antique hutch and rocker, i-Pad, seven tons of white rock, black dirt, and sand, a load of mulch, rounds of golf, and gift cards.
A bake sale and 50/50 raffle will also be featured, and a meal consisting of BBQ and Italian beef sandwiches, with chips, baked beans, and brownies will be served starting at 4:30 p.m. Meal tickets are $8 or two for $15.
