The First National Bank in Sullivan and Hardware State Bank in Lovington have new presidents. Ray Duncan of Lovington was named president following the First National Bank board of directors and annual stockholders meeting. He will be leaving Hardware State Bank as president but retain ownership. Faye Daily, a 27 year employee, replaces Duncan as president.
Bethany school board approved purchase of new uniforms for the fifth-sixth grade basketball teams for $1380. New mathematics text books for elementary school first-sixth grades were purchased for $4816.
Bryan Johnson of Sullivan received a $500 scholarship from the AAA-Chicago Motor Club for his essay: “If I were governor, what would I do to improve teen driving?”
Sullivan travelers Joe and Joan Pound traveled through the streets of Dehli by rickshaw before leaving India and the Asian continent.
Sullivan IGA was having a Super Summer Sale featuring whole fryers for 43¢ a pound and Texas cantaloupe for 99¢ each.
