OVMS Dismantles Shelbyville for Opening Win
Both the seventh and eighth grade OVMS girls basketball teams defeated Shelbyville Thursday evening to begin the season 1-0.
The seventh grade squad got out to a quick 8-2 lead in the first, and proceeded to score seven points in the second followed by six in the third. They capped off the game with 14 points in the final quarter, all while holding Shelbyville to just one more point on their way to a 35-3 blowout.
Bella Benning went 5-of-20 from the field, scoring a team high of 11. Madison Voge went 4-of-11 for eight points, and teammate Kate Jeffers went 4-of-10, also for eight.
