Sullivan Elementary Students Give Book Fair Greater Purpose
•October 4, 2017•
Sullivan Elementary School students turned their annual book fair into an instrument of help and hope for Houston students flooded during Hurricane Harvey.
“It is hard to imagine your school being flooded and everything inside the building ruined,” SES principal Daniel Allen began. “With our book fair approaching we felt that we could share some of our earnings with a school in Texas.”
When talking about the book fair, SES librarian Leah Fleming explained that a big storm called a hurricane came to Texas. She then plotted the path of Hurricane Harvey and how the floods that followed ruined books and other school supplies.
With a lot of books available at the book fair the school decided to share earnings with those in Texas who had nothing left.
