Okaw Valley High School Student Council announces their annual Homecoming Week September 4-8. The overall theme to this year’s festivities is “Superhero”.
Each day will highlight a special theme at OVHS, and students are encouraged to participate accordingly.
The week kicks off with Tuesday as the students dress for “Superhero Day” where they are encouraged to dress as their favorite Superhero.
Wednesday’s theme is “Defend Your Class Day” with the “Powder Tuff” volleyball games beginning at 11:40 am followed by the “Powder Puff” football games. Thursday is “Dynamic Duo Day” when students will dress as their favorite duo or twins.
Friday is “SOV Spirit Day.” The classes will compete with homecoming float building during the day along with a schoolwide luncheon.
Other events on Friday will include the annual homecoming parade at 3 p.m. with line up at 2:30 in the high school parking lot.
This year’s parade will use the same route as the Bethany Celebration. The varsity SOV football game will begin at 7 p.m. on the Okaw Valley High School football field.
All week students will participate in window display boards at the Marrowbone Public Library, float planning/organizing, and various competition activities.
The week concludes on Saturday with the crowning of the 2018 Homecoming King and Queen at 7:45 p.m. with a dance following from 8-11 p.m. in the Okaw Valley High School gym (doors open at 7:15 p.m).
