Public Art Sweeps Through Arcola – New Painted Brooms on Display!

The Arcola Beautification Committee in conjunction with Arcola’s premier patron of the arts, Pat Monahan of Monahan Partners, has been working on a project to increase Arcola’s already impressive collection of public art. Arcola’s 15 outdoor murals highlighting Arcola history, the beautiful Raggedy Ann and Andy sculptures, the Veteran’s Memorial, and the Hippie Memorial already make Arcola’s public art popular, but it’s about to get even better.
Soon Arcola’s public art is about to be swept to new heights……
Twelve brightly illustrated oversized brooms are about to be scattered around historic downtown Arcola. Reminiscent of Chicago’s painted cows of a few years ago, Arcola has adopted the slogan “Come See Our Sweeping Beauties” to entice the public to come see the whimsically themed brooms designed and executed by talented artists.
