The Sullivan/Okaw Valley football team could not find its first win of the year on Senior Night against Clinton at Victory Field Friday night.
“Defensively we played better than we had the previous two weeks,” said Sullivan coach Jeff Myers. “Played better assignment football most of the time. The offense didn’t do the defense any favors by continually giving them a short field. Offensively, we continue to lose at the line of scrimmage.”
Clinton scored on a 36-yard pass in the first quarter and scored 14 more points in the second quarter to take a 21-0 halftime lead.

The Maroons tacked on 14 more points in the fourth quarter for the final 35-0 score.
For Senior Night, Sullivan recognized six seniors and their parents/guardians: Cameron Kesterson, Leman Jones, Cullen Dyer, Ayden Matheson, Jonathan Mathias and Nij Patel.
“This group of seniors has been great to work with,” said Myers. “They are a pleasure to be around each day. They have been through a lot of struggles in their high school careers, but they bought into how we were going to run the program from the time I got here and haven’t wavered in that commitment one time. I have the utmost respect for this group of young men.”
SOV (0-8) is set to travel to Moweaqua to take on Central A&M in its last game of the season Friday night.
