For Okaw Valley junior and golf humdinger Paige Harlin, her 56th place finish at the state golf meet October 18 and 19 came with two very different lessons.
Day one, Harlin stepped up to the biggest stage in high school golf, shooting a personal best 86 after 18 holes, and sitting tied for 39th place.
“I felt really good about day one,” Harlin said.
“Her swing on Friday was so much freer,” said her head coach Andy Wagner. “Her golf swing that first day, it was loose, it wasn’t rushed. She was very confident. I haven’t see her that confident on the golf course all year. It was to the point where she’d hit a shot, and she had a little giddy-up and looked back and smiled. Doing that I knew things were going well.”
