Jeri Davis and Jamie Miller of Sullivan are concerned about those driving around the school bus at a bus stop on Highway 121 in Sullivan. So much so that Davis put up signs near the stop last week hoping drivers will think twice before breaking the law.
“People pass the bus when it has red flashing lights, and when the yellow warning lights are on as well, while my grandchildren are getting on the bus,” Davis reported. It is illegal to pass a stopped school bus.
She has had three signs made and placed them on the side of the road near the stop. They read, “Flashing yellow on school bus CAUTION prepare to stop”, “Flashing red on school bus STOP!” and “Student fatality at this bus stop! Drive safely.”
