For more than 30 years, the Coles County Barbershop Chorus with quartets and ensembles have presented their annual one-hour concert. This year it will be held at the United Methodist Church on South 4th Street in Charleston at 3 p.m. on December 3rd.  The chorus began 53 years ago and singers live in 18 different communities within a 50-mile area: Altamont, Arcola, Arthur, Atwood, Brockton, Charleston, Champaign, Effingham, Hindsboro, Mattoon, Mt. Zion, Newton, Oakland, Paris, Tuscola, Shelby, Strasburg and Sullivan.
