Lake Shelbyville 2014 Recreation Season Kickoff
The 2014 camping season began with the early opening of Area 5 at the Forrest W. “Bo” Wood Campground on Tuesday, April 1. These campsites (114 – 141) are available on a first come, first served basis and sites will be paid for using the honor vault system until Thursday, April 17. From May 8 to May 14, prior to the official opening date, Lone Point Campground is offering free first come, first served camping. Lone Point Campground will host an open house on May 9 and May 10. There will be activities for all ages, inflatable bounce houses, bands, and more.

• Open: May 1—Oct. 13
• Camping Fee: $18-$24 per site per night
Forrest W. “Bo” Wood Campground
• Open: April 17—Oct. 26
• Camping Fee: $18-$24 per site per night
Lithia Springs Campground
• Open: April 17—Oct. 26
• Camping Fee: $18-$24 per site per night
Lone Point Campground
• Open: May 15—Sept. 2
• Camping Fee: $16-$24 per site per night
Opossum Creek
• Open: May 15—Sept. 2
• Camping Fee: $16-$24 per site per night
Reservations for group camping and individual sites at Lake Shelbyville, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) campgrounds can be made by calling toll free 1-877-444-6777, online at www.recreation.gov, or in person at the campground fee booth when open.
Public Beach Season Dates and Fees
Sullivan Beach, Wilborn Creek Beach, and Dam West Beach
• Open: May 24—Sept. 7
• Day use fee: $1.00 per person per day, not to exceed $4.00 per vehicle
• Children under 13 are free
• Public beaches are free for USACE Lake Shelbyville campers (must properly display vehicle tag)
Annual passes for public swimming beaches and boat launches are available for $30.00/year. Annual passes can be purchased Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m to 4:30 p.m. at the Lake Shelbyville Project Office, at USACE campground fee booths when open, and Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the West Okaw Wildlife Management Area Office near Bethany.

Tours of the Dam are available on Saturdays and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. from Memorial Day Weekend until Labor Day Weekend. Tours are open to the public and there is no cost to attend.
