Beatty Appointed to Council of Regents
Marla Beatty of Bethany, an administrator at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, has been appointed to the Council of Regents, the legislative body of the American College of Healthcare Executives. The Council of Regents serves as the link between ACHE and members by approving governance and membership regulations as well as promoting ACHE programs, services and activities within their respective areas.

Beatty is the administrator for the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery and Plastic Surgery in the Department of Surgery and took office at the Council of Regents meeting March 22, during ACHE’s 57th Congress on Healthcare Leadership at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. As a Regent, Beatty will represent ACHE’s membership in central and southern Illinois.
Beatty is board certified in health-care management as an ACHE Fellow. She received her master’s degree in Business Administration from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kan. and her bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She lives in Bethany with her husband, Ron.
