•July 19, 2017•
Illinois Lieutenant Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti visited with local officials at the Red Apple Restaurant in Sullivan Thursday, July 14.
Charged with reporting rural issues to Governor Bruce Rauner, Lt Gov. Sanguinetti listened to Moultrie County officials in the morning while planning to visit agriculture sites in Iroquois County later in the day.
Sullivan mayor Ann Short expressed concern over the tax increase approved by the state, which leaves the city receiving 2% less revenue.
“Less is less,” Sanuinetti said, noting there are consequences of the new budget. “The governor’s approach includes property tax relief, workman’s comp reform and fair maps,” she continued.
