On Homecoming night Friday, the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond football team suffered a tough 40-11 loss against Decatur Lutheran in Arthur.
Against Decatur Lutheran, ALAH kept the game close in the first half.
The Knights fell behind 6-0 in the first quarter and went into halftime behind 8-3.
Decatur Lutheran pulled away in the second half, scoring 18 points in the third quarter and 14 in the fourth for the final score.
“The game was another one that just got away from us. It was an 11-14 ball game at one point, after we scored our touchdown,” head coach Ryan Jefferson said. “The next play they scored on a long touchdown pass and instantly we forgot that we were still in the game.”
