Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights baseball has gotten strong performances from Marcus Vanausdoll and Shandon Herschberger in the first eight games of the season.

Vanausdoll  has a .526 batting average and is 7-7 in stolen bases. In his 19 at bats the sophomore letterman has connected on 10 hits, producing 10 RBIs and scoring five runs. Three home runs, four doubles and three singles round out his hitting.

Shandon Herschberger is also a returning letterman who, like Vanausdoll, spends time on the mound, as well as helping lead the Knight offense.

The junior’s .358 batting average led to his scoring 10 runs, with three RBIs on nine hits in 21 at bats. Herschberger has hit one home run, three doubles and five singles.     Login or Subscribe to read the rest of this story.
