The Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond softball team no-hit Blue Ridge in back-to-back blowout games last Wednesday then knocked off Arcola Friday to clinch the Little Okaw Valley Northwest Conference championship.
Friday against the Riders, ALAH scored a run in the first two innings, but Arcola cut the lead to 2-1 with a run in the third.
The Knights scored two runs in the fourth inning, one run in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth to take control for the 7-2 win.
Marissa Herschberger was two-for-three with three runs scored, and Reagan Miller was one-for-three with two runs scored.
Makenzie Brown went one-for-three with two RBIs, and Molly Day knocked in a run and scored two runs.
Rylie Kauffman also knocked in a run.
In the circle, Shelby Frederick (10-2) got the win. She pitched four innings and allowed one run on five hits and one walk. She struck out four.     Login or Subscribe to read the rest of this story.
