Area Students to be Recognized at Art Exhibition Awards Ceremony Sunday at EIU
The students represented in the 2013-2014 Cultivating Creativity: Consolidated Communications Children’s Art Exhibition will be recognized for their achievement at an awards reception at the Tarble Arts Center on Eastern Illinois University’s campus at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13. Admission is free, and the public is invited.

Area students to be showcased include: Chance Goss, Sullivan High School; Makenna Green, Arthur Grade School; Amy Monroe, Okaw Valley High School; Cole Nichols, Okaw Valley Middle School; Christopher Simpson, Okaw Valley Elementary School; and Olivia Williamson, Windsor Jr./Sr. High School.
Each student represented in the exhibition will be awarded a $50 check provided by Consolidated Communications. In addition each of the participating schools will receive a $50 donation from Consolidated Communications in support of their schools’ art programs. Doug Abolt of Consolidated Communications will present the awards.
Cultivating Creativity 2013-2014 is sponsored by Consolidated Communications and the Tarble Arts Center at Eastern Illinois University. The exhibition consists of 47 area elementary, middle, and senior high school students. The tour began at the Helen Matthes Library in Effingham Oct. 19 and has been traveling to 12 different locations throughout east central Illinois. The exhibit’s yearlong tour will conclude in August at Charleston Carnegie Public Library.
