Artoberfest Awards
Sullivan Area Arts hosted its eighth public art exhibit and contest at Cathrine’s on October 19 and 20 in conjunction with Sullivan’s Oktoberfest.

The contest was open to all original artists’ works including three-dimensional and photographic works. In all 36 pieces by area artists were entered, and with the generous support of local businesses, Sullivan Area Arts awarded $750 in prize money.

Prizes were awarded as follows: Best in Show - Cheryl Schrock for “Harmony to Hoard;” Merit awards - Sue Drummond for “Sweet Molly,” George Strohl for “Destin Pier,” Mel Nichols for “Harry and Lloyd,” Emily Simpson for “Chlorine,” Sharon Slaughter for “Abstract 3;” and, the People’s Choice award - Mel Nichols for “Harry and Lloyd.”
This year’s judge was Darby Beery, owner of Gypsy Soul Revival and manager of Makers Mercantile.
