Not your grandma’s Bingo, this night of loud and crazy fun hosted by KandB Entertainment, fills the average game of Bingo with your favorite music. The Music Bingo will be hosted at the Sullivan American Legion, 8 E Strain Street, where 100% of the nights proceeds go to the Sullivan High School and directly to the students’ Post Prom event. Bingo will be accompanied by Live Djing by KandB Entertainment, ScottyB’s serving up delicious food, a full cash bar with drinks, raffle baskets, auction items, and cash prizes. Music Bingo will be on Saturday, December 7th, doors open at five and Bingo will start and hour later. Tickets will be $25 per person in advance, which includes one Bingo pack for the night or $30 at the door. There is also a table option, $175 for a table of eight which also includes seats and Bingo pack for the whole table. Extra Bingo packs may be purchased at the door based on availability for both individual and table tickets. Tickets can be purchased on Venmo at @SHSpostPROM2025. All attendees must be 21 or older.

The Mid-Illinois Senior Services center holds multiple activities for their attendees daily, hosting many lunches and workouts throughout each month. Eagle Pond Duck Dinner

We’ve been following the route from Waterloo, Illinois to Lafayette, Indiana that is described by William Biggs in his Narrative of the Capture of William Biggs by the Kickapoo Indians in 1788, which is on the internet. It is the earliest account I have found of traveling through Moultrie County.  

Using his narrative, which says they traveled about 25 to 35 miles a day, they arrived on the shores of Eagle Pond north of the present Sullivan about three in the afternoon on the fourth day of his captivity. “They had some dried meat, tallow, and buffalo marrow rendered up together, lashed and hung upon a tree about 20 feet from the ground, which they had  left there in order to be sure to have something to eat on their return.” He’s talking about one of the walnut trees in Eagle Grove on the northwestern shore of the lake!

Sam Mulligan was named boys’ most valuable player and Alexis Matlock was named girls’ most valuable player during the Sullivan Golf Awards night. Mulligan was an all-conference medalist.

Jeff Thomas retired as Moultrie County Sheriff just shy of 42 years of service to Moultrie County. He has joined the sheriff’s office in 1973 and was elected sheriff in 2002.
