Real Estate Tax Bills mailed

Moultrie County real estate taxes were mailed Wednesday, May 25, 2022. The first installment is due July 6, 2022 and the second installment is due September 7, 2022.
Please look over your tax bill and make sure all the information is correct. Please read the back of your tax bill. It is the responsibility of the property owner to report all address changes to the assessor’s office, 728-4951. Assessment and exemption questions should be directed to the Supervisor of Assessments office.
You may pay your taxes at any bank in Moultrie County, Scott State Bank in Mt. Zion, online at https://paytaxes.us/il_moultrie, or by utilizing the outside drop box on the west side of the courthouse. We accept postmark date of payment, so you may mail your payments to Moultrie County Collector, 10 S. Main Suite 10, Sullivan, IL. 61951. If you wait and mail your payment on the due date, you may want to have the post office hand cancel your stamp. We do not accept post-dated checks. If you would like a receipt when mailing payments, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope and the entire tax bill. You may also bring your payments to the County Collector’s Office on the 2nd floor of the Courthouse.
After the due dates, a penalty charge of 1 1/2 percent per month or any part of a month in which the installment remains delinquent.
If you receive your tax bill and the taxes are to be paid by a mortgage/escrow company, you must forward a copy of your bill to the company for a timely payment.
Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve a taxpayer from their tax liability. If you do not receive a tax bill or have any questions, please call the treasurer’s office at 728-4032.

Sullivan Girls Track at IHSA State Meet

Sullivan Girls Track at IHSA State Meet
The 4 x 100 relay of Barrett, Moore, Short, and Booker qualified for finals and finished in 8th place with a time of 51.36. Cassidy Short brought home another medal with a 7th place long jump finish, jumping 5.13 meters. Madalyn Booker competed in the 400 meter dash, finishing in 22nd place in a time of 1:02.14. Sofia Nuzzo competed in the Pole Vault, finishing in 17th place with a 2.90 meter vault. The 4 x 200 relay of Short, Hay, Moore, and Barrett finished in 14th place in a season best time of 1:49.1. The team is coached by Kali Taylor. 8th Grade Relay Team takes 7th at State
The 8th grade 4 x200 girls relay team traveled to the state track meet held in Washington, IL on Saturday, May 21. They were able to run their race between lightning and rain delays and ended up 7th out of 10 teams with a time of 1 minute and 59 seconds.

OV Girls Compete at IHSA State Meet
The IHSA State Meet was held at Eastern Illinois University last week. Okaw Valley sent the following girls to state: Aly Douglass, Mia Harris, Lindsey Ozier, Julia Schrock, Karlie Stauder and Kylie Stauder. The OVHS girls 4x400 team set a new school record with a time of 4:19.14 at the state meet. Those who qualified for last Saturday’s finals were Mia Harris in the high jump, Aly Douglass in the 800, Karlie Stauder in pole vault and Kylie Stauder in pole vault. Final results for Okaw Valley were Mia Harris 11th in high jump, Karlie Stauder seventh in pole vault, Kylie Stauder second in pole vault and Aly Douglass ninth in the 800 with a school record of 2:21.81. IDPH Endorses Federal Authorization of COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Dose for Children ages 5-11 Years Old

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced today that it supports yesterday’s recommendation by the CDC of the Pfizer-BioNTechCOVID-19 booster dose for children aged 5 to 11 years old. IDPH issued an advisory to vaccine providers throughout the state endorsing the booster for children 5 through 11 years of age at least five months after completion of a primary series with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, following the emergency use authorization this week by the FDA and the recommendation of the CDC.
