New Illinois Highway Map on the Streets

The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced the release of the new Illinois Official Highway Map. The map includes route updates as well as a new feature that shows mileage between towns and marked route junctions to help residents and visitors alike plan their travels throughout Illinois. Millikin University President Emeritus Dr. Patrick E. White to deliver May 2022 Commencement Address

Millikin University will celebrate the Class of 2022 with two in-person commencement ceremonies on Sunday, May 22, at Kirkland Fine Arts Center on Millikin’s campus. Undergraduate and graduate degree programs will be honored during the ceremonies.
Graduating students will be allowed up to six guests at the ceremony. Millikin community members unable to attend the ceremony in person will be able to watch the ceremony through a public live stream on Millikin’s flagship Facebook page and commencement site.
Millikin graduates in the College of Fine Arts and the College of Professional Studies will participate in the first ceremony at 10 a.m. on May 22. Doors will open at 9 a.m. Read More

Capital Recap: Lawmakers React to Leaked Draft Abortion Decision

Gov. JB Pritzker and Illinois Democrats warned of an “end to the constitutional right to privacy” if a leaked U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning the 1973 landmark decision in Roe v. Wade becomes finalized as precedent.
“It means women who lose access to the full suite of medical advances that give them choices in how and when they want to start a family are at risk,” Pritzker said at a morning news conference in Chicago.
At the same time, however, the Democrats touted a recent string of Illinois laws aimed at protecting the access to an abortion for Illinoisans and those visiting the state to receive reproductive health care. Read More
