Findlay Fire and Ambulance Association will host a soup supper on Saturday, February 4 from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. Cost is $7 donation.
Blood Drive

The Bethany Theta Psi and the American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive at the Bethany Firehouse on February 14th from 2-6 p.m. Appointments are necessary and can be made by calling 1-800-733-2767 or through RedCrossBlood.org. There’s an urgent need for blood of all types. One donation can save at least 3 lives. Be a hero. Donate.

In the Year in Review that ran in our Wednesday, January 4 edition the entry on Moultrie County Clerk Georgia C. England’s resignation was misworded. We apologize for the error. The entry should have read that England resigned towards the end of the monthly county board meeting. Her resignation letter noted that the courthouse had become a toxic environment and that partisan politics had no place in local elected offices.

Sullivan Dance Studio held a Christmas Break No School Day Camp on Friday, December 30 and counted down to Noon to celebrate the new year. Children enjoyed a balloon drop at noon, a sparkling grape juice toast and other fun activities.

Bethany Legion and Auxiliary Deliver Donations
The Bethany American Legion and Auxiliary took donations to the Danville Veterans Home recently. They delivered 20 winter jackets and 30 pairs of pajama pants as well as gift cards for local restaurants in the Danville area. The organizations deliver items to the VA Home in Danville every year in December. They collect donations based on a list of needs they are given. Illinois National Guard Military Funeral Honors Team Supports More Than 3,100 Veteran Funerals In 2022

The military prides itself in honoring the legacy of Veterans. Whether a Service member dies in combat or a Veteran passes away due to age, the military ensures the Veteran is recognized for their service.
Military Funeral Honors have traditionally been provided when the Veteran is laid to rest. Providing those honors is a solemn duty undertaken by the men and women of the Illinois Army National Guard Funeral Honors Program. These Soldiers serve the families of any deceased member of the Army in the state of Illinois. There is Still Time to Donate to the Illinois Deer Donation Program

Hunters still have time to donate to the program, as the 2022-2023 hunting season comes to an end on January 15! If you’re a shotgun or muzzleloader hunter in Clay, Coles, Crawford, Effingham, and Shelby counties and still have an extra tag to fill, take advantage of the late-winter season January 13-15, 2023.
