Safe Trick or Treat Signup

Safe trick or treat will be held Friday, October 29 from 4 to 6 pm. Businesses that would like to give out candy should contact the Sullivan Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development to sign up by October 15. SCED member participate for free and non-members for $25.

Lake Shelbyville Disabled Deer Hunting Blinds Available at Whitley Creek Recreation Area

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Shelbyville is offering additional deer hunting opportunities at Whitley Creek Recreation Area in Moultrie County for disabled deer hunters holding a state issued P2A card. Disabled hunters will be able to reserve one of 4 blinds in the closed Recreation Area during archery deer season. All four blinds were built by Boy Scouts to earn their Eagle Scout status. OV Boys’ Golf Takes Second
The Okaw Valley boys’ golf team finished 2nd overall in the LPC Championship at Arcola. Trey Hall and Braeden Nichols finished 7th and 8th to earn all-conference.

Girls
The Okaw Valley girls’ golf team won the Lincoln Prairie Conference tournament championship with a score of 423 at Arcola Saturday.
All six Timberwolves finished in the top eight spots to earn all-conference honors.
Blue Ridge took second place with at 478, and Villa Grove placed third with at 573.
Malorie Wons led the Timberwolves with a score of 99 for second place.
Bailey Bennett and Rissa Montgomery each shot a 107 for second and third place.

Karlie Stauder carded 110 for sixth place, and Reagan Reedy shot a 112 for seventh.
Kylie Stauder rounded out the scored with a 121.
The Timberwolves are set to enter IHSA Regional action this week.

Golf
Boys
The Okaw Valley boys’ golf team took second in the Lincoln Prairie Conference tournament with a score of 382 at Arcola Saturday.
Host Arcola won the match with a score of 339. Read More

The Kirby Foods meat department delivered hams to the Moultrie County Food Pantry on Wednesday the 16th, thanks to a generous anonymous donation. The hams will provide a nice Easter dinner.
