In last week’s issue of the News Progress, there was a photo of the Lincoln Day dinner which misidentified the event as being a Moultrie County Democrats event. The event was actually a Moultrie County Republicans event. We regret the error and have reprinted a photo and corrected caption in this week’s issue.

SHS Athlete of the Month
Cassidy Short was named the SHS Athlete of the Month for March for her performance in track. Per Coach Taylor: “Cassidy was one of the only girl student athletes that attended the off-season strength and conditioning workouts on a consistent basis, and that proved to pay off as she finished in 5th place in the Long Jump at the Indoor Prep Top Times meet. As a returning letter winner, Cassidy has grown into a strong leader on and off the track. From the first day of practice, she took the initiative to lead the team in our warm-up drills and continues to hold her teammates accountable for giving their best efforts day in and day out. She always brings a positive attitude to practice and is always encouraging to her fellow teammates. With a work ethic that is unmatched, Cassidy is willing to be placed in any event that will help out the team the most.” Cassidy received a certificate and $20 in Chamber Bucks that can be spent at local businesses.
