Ronald W. ‘Ron’ Moran, 75, of Sullivan, passed away at 10:40 p.m. Thursday April 25, 2019 in his residence.
Celebration of Life services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan with Bob Vail officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in the French Cemetery in Allenville. Memorials are suggested to the Moultrie County Food Pantry or to Lincolnland Hospice. Ron was born February 1, 1944 in Decatur the son of William Eston ‘Button’ and June Chaney Moran. He was a retired maintenance foreman for Caterpillar in Decatur. He married Sharon Morrison on June 17, 1964 and then he later married Dianne Standerfer Hubbard on July 11, 1992 in Sullivan.
Surviving are his wife Dianne of Sullivan; children Nicky (Jeff) Scott of Bement, Richard Shane (Joan) Hubbard of Brookshire, Texas, Curtis William Moran of Sullivan, Stephanie (Jeff) Borntreger of Arthur, Francis Tomas Hubbard and fiancé Candy of Bethany; sister Janet Yantis of Bethany; grandchildren Jory Borntreger, Tiffany Stone, Brad Lake, Wesley Lake, Gage Hubbard, Jenna Bales, Drew Hubbard, Bryce Hubbard, Bailey Hubbard, Brady Borntreger and Jacob Harlin and great grandchildren, Kaylee Lake, Brad Lake, Jr., Sherman Lake, Braxton Lake and Savannah Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Andy and a brother Richard.

Patty Jo Burcham, 85, of Sullivan passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Sullivan Health Care.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2019 at Camfield Cemetery, Sullivan. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Friday at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Sullivan or to the Sullivan Fire and Ambulance Service.
Patty was born September 19, 1933 in Sullivan, the daughter of Walter Fay and Emma (Frederick) Emel. She married Joseph “Hank” Burcham on October 30, 1953 in Lovington; he preceded her in death on January 30, 2006. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Sullivan. She loved hunting, fishing and especially searching for mushrooms.
Patty is survived by her son, Richard (Nancy) Burcham of Sullivan; grandchildren, Jill (Jeff) Johnson of Statesville, NC, Doug (Mike) Burcham of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Brad (Cheri) Burcham of Sullivan, Jim (Debbie) Jent of Sullivan and Melanie (Luke) Byers of Sullivan; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Drummond of Sullivan. She is also survived by many great, great-great, and great-great-great-grandchildren, and by cherished nieces and nephews including, Kent (Sharon) Emel and Cindy (Joe) Tabor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter, Jane Jent Geiling, 2 brothers, Bill and Gareth Emel and 1 sister, Olive Carnine.

The Sullivan girls’ track and field team won the Tri-County Invitational at Sullivan High School last Tuesday and placed third in the Tuscola Open Saturday.
In the Tri-County Invite, Sullivan scored 126 points, which was eight points better than second-place Shelbyville.

Gary W. Stone, 75, of Sullivan, passed away at 12:34 p.m. Thursday April 18, 2019 in St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
There will be no services or visitation. A private family burial will be at a later date in Sand Creek Cemetery in Windsor. Arrangements are by the Reed Funeral Home in Sullivan.

The Sullivan boys’ track and field team placed fourth in the Tri-County Invitational at Sullivan High School last Tuesday.
The boys’ team set a total of 16 new personal records and two first-place finishers.
Leighton Burcham long jumped 19 feet 11 inches for first place and took third in the triple jump at 37 feet 9.5 inches.
Jadon Nuzzo pole vaulted 15 feet for first place, and Brodie Goss took second place in the 300-meter hurdles at 42.86 and fourth in the 11-meter hurdles with a time of 18.03. Read More
