Sullivan senior and SOV middle linebacker Walker Byers thought he might want to continue football in college a year ago. So following the end of his senior season last October, he asked then head coach Charles Brown if he could see if any colleges might be interested in his talents.
Two came knocking but only one caught Byer’s attention–Millikin University in Decatur.
“I was hoping it would happen, but I didn’t know if it would or not,” said Byers, who also received a substantial academic scholarship from the university. “I’m happy it is though.”
