It may be one of the most tiring metaphors in sports. It certainly is one team’s hate to have attributed to them. Unfortunately for Sullivan, it applied Tuesday night.
Despite leading Warrensburg-Latham 12-9 at the end of the first, Sullivan found themselves down 12-20 with 3:55 left in the half. A timeout didn’t help either as the Redskins managed just six points in the second quarter, all while the Cardinals scored an additional 11 to go up 31-18, and, queue it: the bleeding couldn’t, no–wouldn’t, be stopped. Warrensburg-Latham cruised to a 69-39 win.
