Reenactment of the Last Supper will occur at the First United Methodist Church on Maundy Thursday, 13 April beginning at 7 pm

A cast of 13 men from the congregation play the roles of Jesus and his 12 disciples including Judas Iscariot, who later betrayed him following this Passover Meal in the Upper Room.

Easter Sunday, April 16 services are at 9 and 10:30 a.m.

Faith Lutheran Church, Sullivan 

Holy Week Service at Faith Lutheran Church in Sullivan begins with Saturday service at 5 p.m. April 8.

Palm Sunday Service is 10 a.m. April 9 with dinner at 11 a.m. Maundy Thursday, April 13 supper is 5:30 p.m. and worship service 6:30 p.m.

Good Friday Tenebrae service is 6:30 p.m. April 14. Saturday service is 5 p.m. April 15.

Easter Sunday Service is 10 a.m. April 16.

Take Charge of Your Diabetes.

The diabetes self-management program is coming to the Mid-Illinois Senior Center 1-3:30 p.m. Fridays, April 21-May 26. Cheri Burcham of the University of Illinois Extension and Penny Arthur of the Moultrie County Counseling Center will be the instructors for the program.

The participants will learn tools such as healthy eating, stress management, exercise (flexibility and endurance), monitoring blood sugar, medication management, working with their doctor and problem solving around their health condition.

The cost for those who complete the program will be covered by a generous grant from the Administration for Community Living.

Jonathan Creek, Marrowbone 1 & 2, Sullivan 3 will all experience location changes beginning with the April 4 election

County Clerk Georgia England reminds voters in Jonathan Creek Precinct, Marrowbone 1 and Marrowbone 2 Precincts and Sullivan 3 Precinct that the polling locations have changed. Voters will vote at the new locations beginning with the upcoming Consolidated Election Tuesday, April 4.

The new locations are Jonathan Creek at Jonathan Creek Christian Church, Marrowbone 1 and Marrowbone 2 at Bethany Firehouse and Sullivan 3 at First United Methodist Church.

Location changes were necessary in allowing more space for election equipment and to accommodate the increasing number of individuals exercising their right to vote. England also stated, “We are very fortunate in Moultrie County to have organizations, churches, village halls, etc. that are so willing to do whatever is necessary to help in the democratic process of elections. It has been a pleasure working with the locations that have served our county for many, many years, and I am looking forward to working with the three new locations.”

Decatur Memorial Hospital will host a free educational seminar on World Kidney Day, Thursday, March 9, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the DMH classrooms. Pediatric Kidney Specialist, Nazia Kulsum-Mecci, MD, from SIU Medicine will be the featured guest speaker.
