The Bethany Senior Citizen Potluck will be held on Wednesday, April 17 at 11 am at Bethany library. Breakfast meals will be furnished. All are welcome.

The Dalton City UMC, 200 East Freeland, Dalton City, will hold a Ham & Beans Supper on April 13 from 4:30-7 p.m. Meal includes ham & beans, cornbread, dessert and drink for $8 or hot dog, chips, desserts and drink for $5.

Mark and Pam Fisher will be in concert on Saturday, April 13 at 6 pm at Allenville Christian Church, 201 Allen Street in Allenville. Following the concert there will be finger food fellowship. A love offering will be collected.

The 2024 rendition of the annual Spores N’ More Mushroom Festival will be held Saturday, April 27. The festival boasts a variety of activities provided by partners Windsor Happenings Around Town, Shelby County Office of Tourism, City of Windsor and USACE Lake Shelbyville.
Kick off will be 10 a.m. - 2: p.m. on Maine Street in Windsor with food trucks, vendors, live music, morel mushrooms and more. A Mushroom soup lunch will be available at the Windsor American Legion.
There will be cash prizes for the biggest and smallest morel mushroom found in the State of Illinois from April 1-25 (at noon), 2024. Check in no later than noon on April 25, 2024 at the USACE Lake Shelbyville Project Office, 1989 State Hwy 16, Shelbyville, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Moultrie County Monthly Quarter Madness will hold their April Quarter Auction on Wednesday, April 10 at the at the Sullivan American Legion. Sullivan American Legion Post #68 is the charity of the month. The American Legion Post 68 coordinates services for Memorial Day, the 4th of July celebration, parade and fireworks, and participates in Veterans Day services at the local schools and nursing homes. They provide 4-year scholarships for students graduating from high schools in Moultrie County. And most importantly provide military rites for deceased veterans and their families. Vendors, direct sales and businesses at the event could include: pawTree, Rodan + Fields, Avon, Thirty-One, Pampered Chef, Scentsy, Hello Pink, Plunder Jewelry, Allie’s Gift and Garden, Titus Hog Farm, Tastefully Simple plus different craft and food vendors with tumblers, t-shirts, wreaths, earrings, wind spinners, potholders, signs, garden stakes, décor, soy based candles and melties, freeze dried candies, and more. Approximately five new vendors are joining in this month.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the Quarter Auction begins at 6:30. All ages are welcome to attend. Bubbas Food Truck will be in the parking lot with food available for purchase and Sullivan Troop 3241 with Girl Scouts will have a bake sale to help raise funds for badges, service projects and other troop activities. Agri‑Fab Inc. will host a Community Blood Drive with ImpactLife, the provider of blood components for local hospitals. The blood drive will be from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday, April 12 at 809 S. Hamilton St., inside the Gold Classroom

The Okaw Valley music program will host a Music Bingo on Saturday, April 6 at the Findlay Legion. Doors open for the event at 5 p.m. with games starting at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance by contacting Mr. Guzman at guzmane@okawvalley.org or will be available at the door.

Lake Land College is offering up to $100 in tuition savings for all students who register for Summer or Fall 2024 classes by midnight on May 10.
Students who meet the criteria will receive a $50 tuition and fee credit for each registered semester. By registering for both summer and fall classes, students can receive the maximum incentive of $100.
To be eligible for the tuition credit, students must be enrolled in a minimum of three credit hours for summer and six credit hours for fall.
The promotion is available to all current and incoming Lake Land College students.

The Robert and Leila Lorenson $500 Scholarship will once again be offered to high school students and postsecondary students. Students must be graduates from ALAH high school. Applications can be found on the ALAH website or can be obtained from Lorenson Scolarship, 2325 CR 1700 E, Arthur, IL. Deadline is April 15 for high school students and June 1 for postsecondary students.
