Sullivan Singers Preview 2.0

The Sullivan Singers and Singers Jr. will have preview shows on Saturday, February 26 at 5 pm and 7 pm in the Sullivan High School gymnasium. Monetary donations suggested to Moultrie County Food Pantry. That same day at 2 pm they are encouraging parents, family, friends and fans to come out and support the Sullivan Singers and Singers Jr. with a parade around the square. The route will be the traditional parade route.

Fair Holds Annual Meeting

Moultrie-Sullivan Fair Board held their Annual Fair Board meeting on January 10 at the Moultrie-Sullivan Fairgrounds. 2022 officers were elected. Nick Voegel was elected president, Libby Spannagel as Vice-President, Dale Crawford as Secretary/Treasurer and Ginger Voegel as Public Relations. The Moultrie-Sullivan Fair will be held June 24-25, 2022. The tentative schedule for the fair will be published soon on the website and Facebook page. Improvements and use of the fairgrounds in 2021 were reviewed. Some activities held at the fairgrounds during 2021 were: reunions, auctions, meetings, weddings, and parties. Rental prices for the facility beginning January 11 were passed. Other updates that will come in 2022 for inside the building and some outside improvements were also discussed. An annual fundraising letter campaign was planned, which will begin later this spring. The website will be updated soon and the 2022 Fairbook will be uploaded in the next few weeks. Prior to this meeting the Moultrie County 4-H Center, Incorporated also met for their 2022 annual meeting. One Book, One Sullivan Book Discussion

ALAH Student Council hosting Blood Drive

The Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond High School Student Council is hosting a blood drive on Thursday, March 3 from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm at the high school, 301 East Columbia St. in Arthur. To register go to www.redcrossblood.org and search by date to schedule an appointment.

Glo Bingo To Benefit Down Syndrome

Glo Bingo will be held on Saturday, February 26 at the Sullivan VFW, 1146 IL-32, Sullivan. Doors open at 4:30 pm, bingo starts at 6 pm. Cost is $30 at the door and includes 6 Bingo cards for 10 games, glow hat and dauber. $5 per additional 6 cards. Over $1,000 in cash prizes. There will be a cash bar, the VFW kitchen will be open and a bake sale by donation. Must be 18 or older to attend. Proceeds benefit Down Syndrome. Arthur CUSD 305 Vaccine Clinic

The State of Illinois is partnering with Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School to bring a free vaccine clinic to the area on February 15 from 4 to 7 pm at Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School, 301 E. Columbia St. in Arthur. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is authorized and recommended for persons 5 years of age and older. Appointments can be scheduled online at the Arthur CUSD website www.cusd305.org.

Agri-Fab to host Blood Drive

Agri-Fab will host a community blood drive on Friday, February 18 from 9 am to 2 pm at 809 S. Hamilton St, Sullivan inside the meeting room. To donate, contact Taylor Rothrock at (217) 728-8388 ext. 207 or visit www.bloodcenter.org and use code 71025 to locate the drive. Scheduling can also be done by calling ImpactLife to schedule at 800-747-5401. Masks and appointments are required. Donors who last gave blood on or before 12/24/21 are eligible to give at this drive.

Cadwell Blood Drive

A community blood drive will be held on Tuesday, February 15 from 3 to 7 pm at 1533 CR 1900N, inside a donor bus that will be parked by M&E Woodcrafts in Cadwell. To donate, please contact ImpactLife Urbana at (800) 747-5401 or visit www.bloodcenter.org and use code 70636 to locate the drive. Donors who last gave blood on or before 12/21/21 are eligible to give at this drive. Masks and appointments are required. A photo id is required to donate.

Auxiliary Wine Expo/Vendor Fair

The Sullivan American Legion Auxiliary is hosting their annual Wine Expo/Vendor Fair on Sunday Feb. 13th from 1-4pm at the legion hall. This is the 9th year for this event as fundraiser.
Three wineries in attendance that day that will offer wine tasting.There will also be a variety of vendors that will be set up that day with cash and carry items available. Food prepared by the S.A.L. will be available for purchase.
Entrance fee is $5 which includes wine tasting.

New royalty to be crowned
The Moultrie-Douglas County Fair Pageant will be held Monday, July 27th at 6:00 p.m. for Little Miss Fair Queen and 7:00 p.m. for Miss and Junior Miss Fair Queen located at the south track on the Mo-Do Fairgrounds. Vying for the title of Miss Moultrie Douglas Fair Queen are: Abigail Meyer of Tuscola, Addee Mulligan of Arcola, Sarah Rogers of Atwood, Ava Whitson of Tuscola, Addisyn Wilson of Villa Grove, Emma Spillman of Tuscola, Aymara Leal of Arcola and Katilyn Kirby of Sullivan.
