The Lovington Boy Scouts’ annual Christmas tree sales in 1960. Need some help filling in names as we are missing a few. On the far left is Larry Preston. The next two are unknown. Next in front is Bill Faltemier (sp), unknown, Bob Lee, Charles Lewis, & Tilden Fleener on far right. Behind them is Steve Bowers, Richard Trummel, Mike Smith(?) and Mike Lee. Pictured here is the 1881 North Side School. It was located on the northwest corner of Jackson and Hamilton streets in Sullivan. It took a year to build and was finished in 1874. It was three stories, besides the basement. It contained six rooms that accommodated 350 students. Please submit photos to the News Progress for future consideration. The Kirby Foods meat department delivered hams to the Moultrie County Food Pantry on Wednesday the 16th, thanks to a generous anonymous donation. The hams will provide a nice Easter dinner.
