The Findlay 5k will be held August 9 with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. Race time is 9 a.m. Registration, race start and finish will all take place at the Findlay Park. Coon Awarded Scholarship

Zachary Coon has been awarded a scholarship by the Illinois Lumber and Material Dealers Association Foundation. Coon graduated from Sullivan High School in the spring of 2011 and attended Lake Land College studying building construction technology before transferring to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where he is working towards his bachelor’s degree in construction management with a minor in business administration.

The EIU Lynn Karen Adams Memorial Scholarship Award has been presented to Kirsten Taylor of Sullivan.
This award, established by Robin Adams, is administered through the EIU Foundation and presented to a full-time EIU student majoring in psychology. Recipient must have transferred from a two-year college and have at least a 2.75 overall GPA. Financial need is not a consideration. Read More
Lake Shelbyville Dove Hunt Applications Available

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Shelbyville will conduct a dove hunt on opening day of dove season, September 1, at Wilborn Creek Dove Field. Two hunts will take place, one 6-11 a.m. and one 2-7 p.m. A permit is required to participate in the hunt on opening day.
