C.E.F.S. Economic Opportunity Corporation announced that Barbara Waymire of Shelbyville was promoted to the position of Outreach Director. According to Chief Executive Officer Paul White, “C.E.F.S. is truly excited to promote Barbara Waymire to lead and direct the agency outreach programs.” White further stated, “The Outreach Director responsibilities will be both a challenge and opportunity for Barbara Waymire; however, with her many years of program and agency experience, education, skills, leadership, management experience, work background and personal desire she will succeed in achieving the Outreach Director goals and outcomes.”  Read More

Lake Shelbyville Fish Habitat Improvement Day Postponed

The Fish Habitat Improvement Day scheduled for Saturday, March 8 has been postponed to March 22 due to unseasonably thick ice still covering most of Lake Shelbyville. Volunteer registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Lithia Springs Boat Ramp Parking Lot and the work will begin at 9 a.m. Following the event, a free lunch is available for work day volunteers at the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center. Wireless Mike’s has acquired new locations in Sullivan, Marshall, Paris and Tuscola as it expands its service coverage across central Illinois. The Sullivan store is located at 104 S. Hamilton.

“Together, We Give Back to School”

Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation.
