Robert ‘Bob’ L. Dennis of Laguna Woods, California (formerly of Edwardsville, Illinois) passed away at Saddleback Hospital Monday February 4, 2019. Bob was born June 26, 1933 to Wesley and Lydia Dennis. Bob entered the Navy and served four years after graduating from Sullivan High School. Bob was a 32nd degree Mason and a well-respected member for 53 years. Read More

Sophie Woolen, 82, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, March 20) at McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan. Burial was in Greenhill Cemetery in Sullivan.
Sophie was born February 6, 1937 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, a daughter of Wasyl and Anastasia Haveskewicz Yaworski. She married H.C. “Chuck” Woolen, Jr. February 15, 1985, in Mattoon, and he survives. Read More

Dorothy A. Sanner, 90, of Macomb, formerly of Decatur, passed away at 5 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2019 in Wesley Village Health Care Center.
Dorothy was born May 29, 1928 in Decatur, Illinois to John and Catherine Brown Foster and was raised in Lovington. She married William Sanner January 1, 1948 and had three children. Her professional goals led her to several paths of employment. Dorothy was a librarian at Western Illinois University as well as an administrative assistant in the State’s Attorney’s office in Macomb. She established a stitchery studio in Macomb and enjoyed years of teaching stitchery classes and developing a retail business of artistic fibers. Read More
