Phil Leon Phillips, 85, of Sullivan, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
No services will be held. McMullin-Young Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements.
Phil was born March 21, 1933 in Bethany, the son of Earl and Lela Standerfer Phillips. He served in the United States Army. Phil married Loretta May Aldridge December 20, 1963, and she preceded him in death June 13, 2014. Read More

Harold (Ruty) Eugene Rutan, 85, of Arthur, died at 1:46 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at his residence.
Harold was born February 4, 1933 in Charleston, a son of Clifford and Olive Bryant Rutan. He married Betty Wood in Arthur January 13, 1979, and she survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter Dawn (Michael) Moutray of Varna; stepdaughter Lisa (Dick) Agge of Sullivan; grandsons Tyler (Kate) Moutray of Magnolia, Ill., Ryan (Brittney) Moutray of Peru, Ill. and Nicholas (Shaina) Wood of Texas; granddaughters Beth (Ryan) McCann of Imperial, Missouri, Cathryn Agge of Greenwood, Indiana and Megan (Jason) Wood of Edwardsville; great-grandchildren Avery, Morgan, Taylor, Charlotte, Kennedy, Delaney, and Nolan; brother Charles Rutan of Ashmore and sister Vera Hackett of Charleston. Glyndola Tremblay

Glyndola Tremblay of Sullivan passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at Courtyard Estates in Sullivan. She was 88.
A memorial service honoring her life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8 at Jonathan Creek Christian Church, 1425 Jonathan Creek Rd. in Sullivan. Friends and family are invited to gather at 1:30 p.m. to visit before the memorial service begins.
Dode, as she was known to her friends, was born July 3, 1930 in Marrowbone Township, south of Bethany, eldest child of William V. and Kathryn L. Scott. She married William Tremblay, the love of her life, Feb. 14, 1996. Bill of Lazy Acres, Ark. preceded her in death. Read More

W. Melvin Reynolds, age 84, of Allenville, went to be with God at 4:40 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018. He was home surrounded by his family while they said their farewells through tears of sorrow and grief.
Celebration of Life services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Reed Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Dolan officiating. Burial was in French Cemetery in Allenville.
Melvin, as he’s well known, was born Sunday, April 1, 1934 to Luther and Bernice Malone Reynolds in Shelby County, Illinois. On Friday November 20, 1953 Melvin married the love of his life Zelma Louise Colclasure. They were married 65 wonderful years. Read More

Edward A. Wells, 65, of Shelbyville passed away at 3:25 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Ill.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 27 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Pastor Tim Lusitana officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery in Shelbyville.
Edward was born July 3, 1953 in Evansville, Ind., a son of Ocus and Pauline Hardison Wells. He graduated from Findlay High School with the class of 1972. Edward owned and operated Riverfront Campground in Shelbyville. He was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Read More

Andrew O. Helmuth, 67, who lived south of the Otto Center in Arthur, died at 8:26 a.m. Monday, November 12, 2018 in St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, November 15 at the HCK West Building in Arthur. Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the HCK West Building in Arthur. Burial will be in Otto Cemetery in Arthur. McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan is in care of the arrangements.
Andrew was born October 4, 1951 to Oba and Anna Mae Schrock Helmuth. He married JoAnna Kaufman November 23, 1978 in Arcola. He was a member of the Old Order Amish. Read More
