Dorothy Schwartz

Dorothy Woods Schwartz, 97, of Alvarado, Tex. passed away May 1, 2017. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 4 in the First United Methodist Church in Alvarado. Interment followed in Glenwood Cemetery in Alvarado. Vaughan Funeral Home in Alvarado handled arrangements.

Dorothy was born November 18, 1919 in Hays County near Buda, Texas to William and Mattie Woods. She attended Seton Hospital School of Nursing in Austin, Texas and graduated in September 1940 and continued her nursing career as an RN until her retirement in 1976. She married V.E. “Gene” Schwartz September 9, 1944 and enjoyed 55 years of marriage until his death in March 2000. They raised three children, Joe, Mary, and Jack.  Read More

Donald “Don” LeRoy Hilton, 62, of Mount Zion passed away at 2:43 a.m. Sunday May 7, 2017 in Decatur St. Mary’s Hospital.

A service to celebrate Don’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 12 in Lovington Church of God. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 11 in the Lovington Church of God community center. Lenora Fleming Campbell, 92, of Sullivan, died at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017 in Mason Point in Sullivan.

Gladys Marie Walker Sapp, 75, of Sullivan, passed away at 7 a.m., Friday, April 28, 2017 in St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. today (Wednesday, May 3) in the Mason Point Chapel in Sullivan with a memorial service following at 7 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Roselawn Memorial Park in Springfield. Read More

Joseph M. Cochran M. Sgt. USAF (Ret) passed away March 17, 2017.

He will be buried will full military honors at 11 a.m. May 3 in the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. He will be interred with his wife Joni Cochran.
