Lynn Scott, 69, of Sullivan, passed away at 10:33 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 in Sullivan Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, January 29 in McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan. Visitation will be held one hour before the services.

Lynn was born May 1, 1947 in Decatur, the daughter of Virgil and Edna Davison Scott. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing Bingo and going to the Macon Speedway to watch dirt track racing.  Read More

Gary Ray, 61, of Mt. Auburn passed away at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017 in his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 in Calvary Baptist Church in Taylorville with Pastor Steve Switzer officiating. His ashes will be spread in Wyoming and California. Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.

He was born Nov. 23, 1955 in Monterey, Calif., the son of John and Beatrice King Ray. He married Nadine Turnbow March 5, 1977 in Sullivan. Gary worked as an architectural draftsman and later at MasterBrand Cabinets in Arthur. Read More

Nina L. Glazebrook, 92, of Sullivan passed away at 5 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017 in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Coles County. Mother left us for a home with no pain. A devoted Christian and loving mother who taught us all about the love of God and the power of family. It is with a heavy heart that she has left us but knowing she is with her Lord and Savior.

Celebration of Life services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 23 in Reed Funeral Home with Pastor Brandon Zoll and Ron Bartenen officiating. Burial was in Greenhill Cemetery in Sullivan.  Read More

The Moultrie-Douglas County Fair Pageant will be held Monday, July 27th at 6:00 p.m. for Little Miss Fair Queen and 7:00 p.m. for Miss and Junior Miss Fair Queen located at the south track on the Mo-Do Fairgrounds. Vying for the title of Miss Moultrie Douglas Fair Queen are: Abigail Meyer of Tuscola, Addee Mulligan of Arcola, Sarah Rogers of Atwood, Ava Whitson of Tuscola, Addisyn Wilson of Villa Grove, Emma Spillman of Tuscola, Aymara Leal of Arcola and Katilyn Kirby of Sullivan.
