Ruth Helen Kohlhauff was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 2, 1923. Her father, William Kohlhauff was employed at the Brown Shoe Company. Her mother, Rose Graff Kohlhauff was a homemaker. She lived with her parents on Minnesota Avenue in Dutchtown, a German-American community in south St. Louis. She spent many happy hours, days and weeks and summers with her grandparents and cousins at the local pool at Marquette Park. Read More
