Theron Doss
Theron Eldon Doss, 89, of Windsor passed on in his home Tuesday, June 10, 2014. He was born in Akersville, Kentucky to Jack and Alma Stinson Doss. As a young boy he worked in the family tobacco fields before heading to Illinois at the age of 15. Soon after arriving, he felt the call to serve his country but had to wait until he was old enough. He went on to join the United States Army during World War II.
Hazel Davis
Hazel C. Davis, 87, of Bethany passed away at 12:02 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 in her home, Bethany.
No funeral services will be held. Arrangements were by McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Bethany.
Sam Syfert
Funeral services for Samuel R. Syfert, 85, of Bethany were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Bethany. Graveside services were in Hubbartt Cemetery in Beecher City.
He passed away at 5:10 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2014 in Mason Point in Sullivan.
Michael Perry
Celebration of Life services for Michael B. Perry, 32, of Sullivan were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Reed Funeral Home in Sullivan with Bob Vail officiating. Burial was in Greenhill Cemetery in Sullivan.
He died at 10:46 a.m. Thursday June 5, 2014 in Silverton, Colorado.
Michael was born November 30, 1981 in Mattoon, a son of Wanda Jane Pickel Leatherwood.
Nina Dimond
Nina Elizabeth (Betty) Dimond was born in Decatur to Albert Baker Dimond III and Nina Elizabeth Ellis Dimond Thanksgiving day Nov. 27, 1930. She graduated from Lovington High School in 1948 and received her registered nurse degree from St. John’s School of Nursing in Springfield. After earning a B.S. in nursing education from Millikin University in Decatur, she moved to California and worked at several day care centers.
Loretta Phillips
Loretta May Phillips, 77, of Sullivan died at 12:12 p.m. Friday June 13, 2014 in Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
No funeral services will be held. Arrangements were by McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan.
She was born Sept. 8, 1936 in Sullivan, the daughter of Harold and Blanche Sutton Aldridge. She was a retired beautician. She married Phil Leon Phillips Dec. 20, 1963, and he survives.
Also surviving are a son Steve Auten of Kansas; daughter Julie Ohler of Normal and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Cheryl Robinson.
Memorials may be made to Sullivan VFW Post #68.

Charles Brightman
Services to celebrate the life of Charles E. Brightman, 68, of Danville, formerly of Decatur were held at 2 p.m. Monday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home in Decatur. Masonic rites were held at the funeral home. Military honors were conducted by Macon County Honor Guard.
He passed away peacefully in his home Tuesday, June 3, 2014.
Flip Feezel
Funeral services for Gary “Flip” D. Feezel, 66, of Sullivan were held at 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) in McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan. Military rites by Sullivan American Legion Post #68 followed the service. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in St. Elmo at a later date.
He passed away at 8:30 p.m. Saturday June 7, 2014 in St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
Windell Cash
A service to celebrate the life of Windell K. Cash, 80, of Blue Mound was held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home in Blue Mound. Burial was in Old Stonington Cemetery.
He died at 11:55 p.m. Monday June 2, 2014 in St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
