Pastor Jan Munch, originally from Sullivan, went to be with the Lord on October 11, 2022, at age 81. He was the pastor of Athens Lutheran Church in Athens, Tenn. from 1983 to 2007. Prior to this, he served as Assistant Pastor at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Decatur and as a vacancy pastor at Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church in Mt. Zion. Faye Miller Skaggs, 95, of Pawnee, Illinois, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022, at Concordia Village in Springfield.
Faye was born Aug. 7, 1927, in Taylorville, a daughter of Joseph Reuben and Rey Ethel Younker Miller. Faye met Eugene Edward Skaggs at a roller rink, and they were married Feb. 20, 1949, at First United Methodist Church in Springfield. They celebrated 63 wonderful years of marriage until Gene’s death in 2012. Faye also was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Joan Edwards and a brother, Dean Miller. Read More
