Linda L. Breedlove, 76, of Lovington, passed away 11:20 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2016, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016, at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Lovington. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home in Lovington. Burial will be in Arcola Cemetery, Arcola. Memorials may be made to the Lovington Ambulance Service, Kaskaskia Valley Animal Hospital or to the donor’s choice.

Linda was born April 4, 1940, in Charleston, the daughter of Russell and Freda (Carter) Huey. She married Robert W. Breedlove on October 2, 1971, in Mattoon; he preceded her in death on October 29, 2000. Linda was a Lovington Ambulance Board Member, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post #429, a Moultrie County Election Judge and a Committee Woman Democrat.

She is survived by her children, Meta D. Creek of Lovington, Sheila A. (Steve) Price of Atwood, David D. (Eleanor) Creek of Bethany and Cynthia M. (Steve) Wiseley of Mt. Vernon. She is also survived by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers, one granddaughter and her faithful companion Miss Precious.

Juanita Grace Wilson, 83, of Lovington, passed away 7:20 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2016, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2016, at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Lovington. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home in Lovington. Burial will be in Keller Cemetery, Lovington. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Decatur and Macon or to the donor’s choice.

Juanita was born September 26, 1932, in Moweaqua, the daughter of Hazel Grace Carlyle. She married Millard E. Keeling in 1954, and he preceded her in death in 1977. Juanita later married Dale R. Wilson in 1978, who also preceded her in death in 1994. She was a member of the First Church of God. She loved her dog Sami with all her heart and she enjoyed carrying for the stray cats around her house.

She is survived by her son, Dennis E. Keeling of Lovington; daughter, Donna G. K. (Jeff) Smith of Douglasville, GA; step-daughter, Jan (Larry) Bigard of Newton. Juanita is also survived by four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Dorothy L. Chappel, 87, of Sullivan, passed away 12:01 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2016 at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan, with Rev. Ben Harris officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home in Sullivan. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

Dorothy was born May 25, 1929 in Long Creek, the daughter of George Franklin and Lillian Fressie (Helpingstine) Klein. She married Lloyd F. Chappel on April 10, 1948 in Sullivan; he preceded her in death on September 2, 2011. Dorothy enjoyed reading, baseball and was an avid New York Yankees fan, playing pinochle and rummaging. She worked as a bookkeeper and later in private nursing. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Sullivan. She truly treasured the time spent with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Roger Chappel of Sullivan; daughters, Janet (Jerry) Rohman of Sullivan and Jackie (Charlie) Goad of Decatur; sister, Rosetta (Roger) Naab of Sullivan; special sister-in-law, Carlene Klein of Sullivan. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, her special niece Betty Brandvold of Mattoon and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Michael, ten brothers and six sisters.

Frank Jr. “Jake” Wood, 81, of Lovington passed away 12:57 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur.

A Memorial Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2016, at Keller Cemetery, Lovington.. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Lovington, is in charge of the arrangements

Frank was born on July 28, 1934, in Lake City, the son of Frank and Juanita (Howard) Wood. He married Marilyn K. Hall on March 3, 2015, in Mt. Pleasant. MO; she survives. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Southern Baptist Church, MO. He enjoyed old cars and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Frank is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Lovington; son, Terry L. (Sheryl) Wood of Sullivan; daughter, Tamra (Duane) Jenkins of Sullivan; brothers, Don Wood of Decatur and Floyd (Clara) Wood of Lovington; sister, Marge Miller of Sullivan; half-sister, Kathy Armstrong of Decatur. He is also survived by two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three step-children, eight step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Letha Mae Rohr, 95, of Mattoon, IL passed away at 7:25 pm on July 11, 2016 at East View Terrace in Sullivan, IL.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am on Friday July 22, 2016 at the Calvary Cemetery in Mattoon, IL. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL is assisting the family.

She was born December 16, 1920 in Cumberland County to Roy and Clara (Kinnamon) Hetzer. She married Thomas H. Rohr in 1939. He passed away September 3, 1987. They had three children, Lynda Lou Phillips, husband Ronnie (deceased) of Sullivan, IL, Donna Sue Cox (deceased) husband Jerry of Mattoon, IL, Thomas H. Rohr, Jr. wife Beverly of Greenup, IL; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Donna Cox, brothers Dale Hetzer and Eldon Hetzer and son in law Ronnie Phillips.

Letha was a homemaker, enjoyed her family, bowling, working in her yard and collecting dishes. She was member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Mattoon, IL. Online condolences can be expressed at www.barkleyfuneralchapels.com

Barry Vandeveer Hagerman, 61, of Sullivan, died 4:16 p.m. Wednesday (July 6, 2016) in his home.

 Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Sunday at the Elim Springs Church of Jesus Christ, Sullivan with Felix Hagerman and Vanessa Patient officiating. Burial will be in the Greenhill Cemetery. Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan is in charge of arrangements.

 Barry was born March 4, 1955 in Champaign, IL, the son of Philip and Alice Kenney Hagerman. He worked at Felicity Fashions in Sullivan for many years and was a longtime employee of Hagerman & Co. of Mt. Zion. He was a member of the Elim Springs Church of Jesus Christ and enjoyed singing in the choir. Barry also enjoyed candy making, music, cooking and traveling.

 Survivors include his sisters-in-law Sandy Hagerman (Dennis Watson) and Amy (Jim) Galligan, both of Sullivan; nieces Elaine (Joe) Perry of Mt. Zion, Alyssa (Adam) Moomaw of Sullivan; nephews Andrew (Brooke) Hagerman of Sullivan and Brigham (Ashley) Hagerman of Sullivan; ten great nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John and Dennis Hagerman and his beloved aunts.

Rene’e Lucille Downs, 62, of Lovington passed away 8:10 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016, at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Lovington. Visitation will be held an hour before the service on Saturday at the funeral home in Lovington. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Rene’e was born on December 27, 1953, in Fairfield, CA, the daughter of Stanley Martin and Janet Ruby (Whitehouse) Rothenbuecher. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping, playing the guitar and singing, but most of all she loved her family with all of her heart.

Rene’e is survived by her father, Stanley of Decatur; sons, Robby and Dustin Sletner both of Spokane, WA; daughters, Mandi and Jessie Miller both of Spokane, WA; brother, Stanley Martin Rothenbuecher II of Lovington; sisters, Jeanette Baine of Lovington and Denise Miller of Lovington. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother and one grandson.

Oliver E. “Bud” McDevitt, 84, of Sullivan passed away 2:30 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016 in his home, Sullivan.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2016 at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan with Military Rites by the Sullivan American Legion Post # 68 at 5:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Moultrie County Food Pantry.

Bud was born March 3, 1932 in Hysham, MT the son of William and Helen (Palmer) McDevitt. He married Ellen Rose White on April 6, 1951 in Piggott, AR. She preceded him in death on February 11, 2013. Bud was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a retired shoe maker and was a member of the Church of Christ, Sullivan.

Bud is survived by his sons, Tony (Dianne) McDevitt of Taylors, SC, John (Jill) McDevitt of Sullivan; daughters, Cynthia (Tom) Trigg of Mt. Zion, Sandra (Jeff) Meadows of Sullivan; brothers, Larry (Liz) McDevitt of Spanaway, WA, Jerry (Marylin) McDevitt of Highland; brother-in-law, Alan (Allison) White of Petoskey, MI; 11 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ellen, two sisters and his brother.

Betty Jewell Carr, 91, a longtime resident of the Windsor area passed away peacefully June 16, 2016 at Heartland Christian Village of Neoga. Born August 22, 1924 in Shelbyville she was the oldest daughter of Hal and Nina (Bence) Hennigh. She attended Walden and Prairie Schools, Windsor High School and Sparks Business College. Betty married Russell (Rusty) Carr May 10, 1945 in Decatur. She is survived by two sisters Mary Lou Rihl of Plain City, OH and Joy (Bob) Caspary of Windsor; daughter Linda (Randy) Rose of Monticello; son Jerry Carr of Effingham; daughter-in-law Janet Carr of Windsor; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Rusty, youngest son Michael and great-grandson Tyler Carr. Betty lived an active life for many years. As a child she worked on the family farm with her father. After marrying, Betty and Rusty farmed together. In her later years she still liked to discuss the crop situation. She was active in the Windsor United Methodist Church. Betty worked as a receptionist and office assistant for Dr. Taylor in Windsor. After retirement she worked in the pro shop at Angus Links golf course. Betty and Rusty spent many winters in Bonita Springs, FL where they made great friends and enjoyed a relaxed lifestyle. She was a wonderful seamstress making her daughter’s wedding gown, a great cook who could whip up a delicious meal with whatever was on hand. Betty and Rusty had happy memories traveling in their camper, dancing, playing cards and mushroom hunting with family and friends. She was happiest spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very proud of them and their accomplishments. The last few years she has called Heartland Christian Village her home. She loved the staff and kept them on their toes. Betty will be remembered as an outgoing, vibrant, one of a kind personality. She will be remembered fondly and missed by many. Visitation will be held at Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Journey for Jordan or the Windsor United Methodist Church. David Eugene Smith, 73, of Oreana passed away 4:40 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016 in his home.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2016 at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Bethany. Burial will be in Marrowbone Township Cemetery, Bethany. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois or to the Wounded Warrior Project.

David was born on September 13, 1942 in Moweaqua, the son of Guy F. and Viola Blanche (Ward) Smith. He married Connie L. Miller on September 26, 1965 in Bethany. He was a Marine Corps veteran. David was retired from A. E. Staley Company, Decatur. David also worked at P.C. Limited, Argenta and he was a cabinet maker. He was a member of the Cumberland-Presbyterian Church, Bethany.

He is survived by his wife, Connie; sons, Bryan (Kelly) Smith of Bourbonnais and Tighe (Donna) Smith of Nashville, TN; daughter, Sheri (Robert) Williams of Decatur; sister, Marlene Fabley of Decatur; 9 grandchildren, Tiffany, Scott, Emily, Abigail, Sarin, Annabelle, JB, Desirae and Makiya; 3 great-grandchildren, Brionna, Brilee and SJ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters.
