Athletes compete at Invitational

A small group of Sullivan High School boys track athletes competed at the 66 team EIU Indoor Invitational on Saturday, March 8. 

Earning points at the meet were Johnny Iaccobazzi taking sixth place in the 1600 meters with a time of 4:37.31 and the 4x200 Relay team of Aian Fryman, Christian Ozier, Mason Booker and Deaiden Arnold racing to eighth place with a time of 1:37.57.

LPC Girls Basketball All-Conference announced

The Lincoln Prairie Conference announced the Girls Basketball All-Conference teams with several area girls receiving honors. Earning first team honors were senior Addison Minor (unanimous selection) and senior Emily Miller from Sullivan and sophomore Sophie Monts of ALAH. Senior Shae Ellis of Sullivan earned 2nd Team selection and sophomore Morgan Casteel of ALAH senior Julia Schrock of Okaw Valley earned honorable mention.

Ten Dolphins qualify for Circle City Classic

Sullivan Blue Dolphins sent 10 swimmer to the Circle City Classic Invitational in Indianapolis, IN. This is a meet in which swimmers must swim qualifying time to get into the meet. At this meet SBD’s Emily Crosier took down the 500 free record that once was held by BNSC’s coach Brynna who is a former Blue Dolphin.  Pictured are the 10 swimmers who made it. Grant Martin, Nathan Rafferty, Emily Crosier, Addy Hendry, Emerson Risley, Kylan Hall, Mack Pogue, Bryce Badman, Kinsley Eads and Cadence Schmohe (not pictured).

Blue Dolphins Compete

Dolphins to compete in Winter Regional Championship Sullivan Blue Dolphins also are sending 18 swimmers to Winter Regional Championship in Peoria. This swimmers all swam qualifying times to complete in individuals events. Okaw Valley held Boys Basketball Senior Night on Tuesday, February 18. Senior platers include Seth Forlines, Ulrich Harshman, Cameron George, Chase Creviston, Grady Sparks, Camden Mitchell and Parker Spellman.
The Senior Cheerleaders were also recognized and included German Foreign Exchange Student Annika Scherle. Recognized were Lydia Webner, exchange student Annika Scherle, Reagan Russell, Lexi Mashaw, Annabelle Cheatham, Alayna Roe and Chloe Grimm.

Schmohe earns all-conference in swimming at UW-Whitewater

Ethan Schmohe, a Biology major at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater from Bethany, was one of six members of the Warhawk men’s swimming and diving team who garnered all-conference honors for their performances last week at the 2025 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships at Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer.

Two more conference wins for the Lady Redskins

The Lady Redskins played two games last week. At the end of the week, they had outscored their two opponents 137-19. The wins moved them to 24-3 (9-0).

The first contest of the week was against Okaw Valley. One could venture a guess that by the end of the first quarter, the game was over. Sullivan didn’t allow OV on the board until the third quarter. And that was just a basket. They would allow just four more points in the fourth quarter for a final score of 75-6. Three Lady Redskins ended up in double digits for points. Aeralyn Thrasher led with 16, while Addison Minor and Emily Miller had 14 and 10, respectively. Thrasher also led in rebounds with seven.

Helmeth receives Amtryke



News Progress


River Helmeth received an Amtryke from the Sullivan AMBUCS at their fundraising cookout last Saturday, May 9th, in the Kirby Foods parking lot. River rode her new Amtryke for the first time like a pro as her mom Stephanie, looked on. With a big smile and look of determination, River showed everyone how well she could ride.
