Two Wins for Okaw Valley High School Volleyball Team

The Okaw Valley volleyball team bookended the St. Anthony Invitation with two wins and loss in another busy week.
Monday night, the Timberwolves defeated Edinburg in straight sets, 25-14, 25-21.
Kate Jeffers recorded four kills and three aces, and Paige Coleman collected five kills, six digs and three aces.
April Decesaro added six digs, and Grace Bunfill dished out nine assists.
Macie Fleshner hit five kills, while Avery Bruns recorded two blocks.
Saturday in Effingham, OV finished the St. Anthony Invitation with a 2-3 record.
The Timberwolves defeated Sullivan and host St. Anthony but lost to Shelbyville, Newton and Pana.
In game one, Shelbyville beat OV in three sets (25-23, 3-25, 11-150). Read More

The Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond football team dropped its second-straight Lincoln Prairie Conference game at Arcola Friday night.

The Sullivan cross country teams competed in the 42nd Tuscola Classic at Wimple Park Saturday.
The boys’ team placed 11th and two girl runners placed in the top 21 runners.
For the boys, Chase McClure lead the Redskins with a 14th place finish and a time of 17:37.49. Read More

The Sullivan boys’ golf team picked up more wins this past week.
Monday night, Sullivan won a triangular meet at Altamont with a team score of 164.
Logan Westjohn tied for medalist with a score of 38.
Drew Rogers followed with a 39, and Camden Dwyer shot a 42.
Leyton Ellis scored a 45, and Gary Herschberger finished with a 49.
Saturday, the Redskins placed second in the Windsor Invitational with a score of 319. Read More

Last year, the Sullivan-Okaw Valley High School football team combined for a total of 60 points for the entire season.
In four games this season, the Redskins have combined for a total of 96 points.
Friday night during the Okaw Valley homecoming game against Shelbyville, SOV put 40 points on the board, but lost its fourth-straight game, 56-40.
At Okaw Valley High School in Bethany, the Rams jumped out to a quick 21-0 start in the first quarter, but SOV answered with 13 straight points. Read More

Three Game Week for ALAH Volleyball Team

The Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond volleyball team dropped three matches this past week.
The Knights fell to Arthur Okaw Christian (20-25, 25-20, 25-11) Monday night.
In the three sets, Alisha Frederick dished out 18 assists and had five digs, and Mackenzi Bowles hit nine kills and two digs.
Michaela Powell recorded 12 digs, and Abby Abercrombie and Charley Condill each had five.
Thursday (19th), ALAH lost to Cumberland in straight sets (25-9, 25-23).
Kaylee Yeakel recorded kills, and Condill added four kills and three digs. Read More

Sullivan Volleyball Team Takes St. Anthony

The Sullivan volleyball team competed in a Central Illinois Conference match, a nonconference match and in the Effingham St. Anthony Volleyball Invitational this past week.
Saturday at the Effingham St. Anthony Volleyball Invitational, Sullivan started the tournament with a three-set win (25-10, 10-25, 15-11) against host St. Anthony. Read More
