Sullivan Boys’ Golf Team Wins Regional Championship

The Sullivan boys’ golf team is on a roll.
After finishing the season 26-0, the Redskins won the Central Illinois Conference meet for the third year in a row last Tuesday,
Sullivan followed that with a regional championship Monday.
To advance to the sectional meet, the Redskins won the Class A Okaw Valley Regional golf meet at Eagle Creek Golf Course with a score of 348. Read More

Tuscola Dominates Redskins in Homecoming Game

The Sullivan-Okaw Valley football team dropped its Homecoming game against Tuscola 56-13 Friday night.
The Warriors scored first on a 49-yard run with 9:54 left in the opening period to take a 7-0 lead.
The Redskins tied the scored at seven with 5:05 left to play in the first quarter when Dillon Wallace punched in a 1-yard run.
From there, Tuscola rattled off the next 49 points.
Late in the fourth quarter, Luke Vanderburgh scored on a 1-yard run for SOV’s last six points.
SOV is scheduled to travel to Decatur on Friday to take on St. Teresa at 7 p.m.[/s2If]

ALAH Volleyball Drops Two in Heritage

The Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond volleyball team dropped its first two matches in the inaugural Lincoln Prairie Conference Tournament at Heritage Monday night.
In pool play, the Knights lost to Cumberland 25-21, 25-19 and to host Heritage 25-13, 25-23.
Against Cumberland, Mackenzi Bowles led the team with nine kills to go with three kills.
Michaela Powell contributed two aces and 10 digs, while Alisha Frederick tallied six digs, two kills and two aces. Read More

OV Girls’ Cross Country Take Honors

OV Girls’ Cross Country Take Honors
The Okaw Valley girls’ cross country team posed during the Lincoln Prairie Conference meet at Lake Land College Saturday. Sophomor Karlie Stauder finished fourth to earn All-Conference honors. The girls’ cross country team also placed fifth place out of 22 teams in the Decatur Fest.The Timberwolves are set to enter the Cumberland Invitational Saturday.

Busy Week for SHS Girls Golf Team

The Sullivan girls’ golf team competed in several meets last week.
Thursday (26th), the Redskins lost to St. Teresa and Tri-Valley at Ironhorse in Tuscola.
Miriah Booker led the Redskins, followed by Erin Wallace, Alyssa Shriver and Lara Herschberger.
Wednesday (25th), the team competed in Effingham and again were led by Miriah Booker, followed by Erin Wallace, Alyssa Shriver and (tie bewteen) Morgan Moll and Lara Herschberger.
Last Tuesday, were defeated by Mattoon and Champaign Central. Read More

Sullivan Golf Team Knocks off Teutopolis Finish 26-0 for Season

The Sullivan boys’ golf team finished the regular season 26-0 by knocking off Teutopolis 158-196 Monday.
Logan Westjohn was Medalist with a score of 39, and Leyton Ellis also shot a 39.
Drew Rogers and Aiden Short each followed with a score of 40.
Camden Dwyer shot a 42, and Gary Herschberger carded a 46.
Thursday (26th), Sullivan defeated Tuscola, Tri-Valley, and St. Teresa with a score of 161 at Ironhorse.
Rogers scored a 37, and Westjohn followed with a 39.
Short shot a 41, and Ellis and Dwyer each carded a 44.
Gary Herschberger round out the team score with a 45. Read More

Sweet Taste of Victory for SHS Volleyball Team

It has been awhile.
But the Sullivan volleyball team tasted a conference victory for the first time in more than two years.
The Redskins defeated Warrensburg-Latham 12-25, 25-13, 25-17 last Tuesday.
Avery Still led the team with 11 kills and two blocks.
Zoe Walton hit five kills, and Raegen Sims hit six.

Arcola Wins at Eagle Creek Golf  Resort Saturday

Arcola placed first in the LPC Tournament Saturday that was held at Eagle Creek Golf Resort.
Arcola/ALAH came in with a score of 369 which was 39 strokes clear of 2nd place Okaw Valley.
Two Arcola/ALAH players tied for low round of the day with an 86. Senior Dallas Sisk beat his teammate Jacob Butler in a sudden death playoff to take first place honors. Read More

Sullivan Cross Country Teams Run in Classic

The Sullivan cross country teams competed in two meets this past week.
Saturday, the boys’ team placed 21st in the St. Joseph Ogden High School Spartan Classic.
The Redskins times and places included
Chase McClure’s 53rd (17:13.99), Peyton Pool’s 115th (18:41.59), Noah Bates’ 117th (18:46.64), Coen Foster’s 134th (19:29.61), JJ Standerfer’s 135th (19:30.78), Paul Bates’ 138th (19:32.76) and Dakota Freese’s 140th (19:38.89).

Helmeth receives Amtryke



News Progress


River Helmeth received an Amtryke from the Sullivan AMBUCS at their fundraising cookout last Saturday, May 9th, in the Kirby Foods parking lot. River rode her new Amtryke for the first time like a pro as her mom Stephanie, looked on. With a big smile and look of determination, River showed everyone how well she could ride.
