Sullivan Girls Compete At Charleston Invitational

Five members of the Sullivan girls’ track and field team competed in the Charleston High School Girls’ Indoor Invitational held Saturday at Eastern Illinois University.

Sullivan Softball Opens Season

The Sullivan softball team was no hit in its 10-0 to season opener loss to Maroa-Forsyth Monday evening.

The Redskins are set to travel to Cerro Gordo Tuesday, then to Cumberland Friday, March 16.

OV’s Bunfill and Hill  Play in All-Star Game

The 25th annual boys’ basketball Central Illinois All-Star game is set for March 24 in Cumberland. There is a three-point contest at 7:05 p.m., and tip-off of the game involving senior players from the LOVC against senior players from the NTC is set for 7:30. Jared Bunfill and Austin Hill will represent Okaw Valley and the LOVC in that game.

Area Players Earn OV Division Honors

Several area basketball players earned all-Little Okaw Valley Conference Northwest Division honors this past week.

For Okaw Valley, senior Jared Bunfill was named to the 7-member 2017-18 all-Little Okaw Valley Conference Northwest Division boys basketball team.

Bunfill averaged a team-high 11.9 points per game. Read More

Boyer to Mexico in May

Britton Boyer of Sullivan along with her teammates of Trevecca Nazarene University’s basketball team will travel to the Chiapas region of Mexico May 8-15 to help rebuild housing in the area heavily impacted by the recent earthquakes.  Read More

Central Illinois Crush Organizes
Central Illinois Crush baseball team was recently organized by Sullivan native Josh Wright, his wife, Dana Rose and Jeff Rose. Central Illinois Crush 11U Baseball team is a newly founded baseball team that is based out of Sullivan with 13 players and four coaches.
The team met March 11 with one of the team sponsors Courtyard Estates in Sullivan. The entire team and coaches had lunch and photograph sessions with Courtyard residents and talked baseball.

The Okaw Valley softball team dropped its season opener 11-3 to Central A&M Monday evening.

Madison Voegel, Grace Bunfill and Natalie Jeffers each scored a run and had at least one walk, and Danielle Lochbaum and Bella Benning each knocked in a run.  Read More

SES Preschool carnival a hit

On Thursday, May 15th SES and PTO sponsored a Preschool Carnival that included lunch, face painting, bounce houses, snow cone truck, playground activities, and games set up by sponsoring attendees. Pictured is Jasper Rhodes, age 5, who actively enjoyed everything on offer, including chasing bubbles.
