A group of SOV Football players competed at the Taylorville Weightlifting Meet on Saturday. The team competed in the Bench Press, Back Squat, and Power Clean, with the group finishing in 2nd place in the team competition. These athletes also placed individually in their divisions:

Sullivan Blue Dolphins Setting Records

Sullivan Blue Dolphins hit the water again January 28-30 in Paducah, Kentucky at the PST Swimfest. This swim meet had some special challenges that swimmers brought home awards. The Triple Crown award (swimming three 50M events on Friday with the fastest total time) was earned by Madalyn Booker and Ethan Schmohe. Emily Crosier was brought home the Championship ring in the Iron Wolf competition for having the fastest combined time in the 400M IM, 500M freestyle and 1000m freestyle. Read More

Youth Baseball and Softball Registration

Sullivan Youth Baseball/Softball registration for 2022 is now open. Signups are open now until Saturday, March 5 at 9:00 pm. SYB/SYS has leagues for many ages levels, beginning with T-Ball for children entering Kindergarten in the fall. The leagues are as follows:

OV Falls to Nokomis

The Okaw Valley Lady Timberwolves put up a good fight against Nokomis last Wednesday, February 9, but ultimately fell 61-41.
Two Timberwolves reached double digits in scoring. Rissa Montgomery led the team with twelve and Mia Harris dropped in eleven. Montgomery nailed three three pointers and went 3-4 from the line and Harris also drained a three and went 4-6 from the line. Lexi Bartimus hit two threes for her six points, Reagan Reedy contributed five, Bailey Bennett four and Megan Roley hit a three of her own.

SHS Girls Bball Falls to Mt. Zion

The Lady Redskins lost to Mt. Zion by a score of 49-20. It was a very slow start for the Lady Redskins as they scored 7 points in the first half, but tied Mt. Zion 13-13 in the second half. Kiley Dyer led the team in scoring and rebounding as she had 6 points and 5 rebounds. Addison Minor and Chloe Smith each had 4 points. Emily Miller led in steals with 3.
Sullivan Holds on vs A&M

The Lady Redskins took a 19-13 lead into the half against A&M last Thursday and found a way to hold on for the 47-43 win. The victory gave Sullivan 5th place in the CIC Tournament.
Alaina Moore led the team with 17 points in the matchup. Izzy Hay dropped in nine points to go with her scrappy defensive effort, coming up with four steals. Skyla Palmer led the Lady Redskins on the boards with seven rebounds to go with her two points. Kiley Dyer chipped in with seven points, Addison Minor five, Emily Miller four and Addison Stollard rounded it out with one.
Lady Redskins fall to Shelbyville

In a very hard fought match-up last week with the Lady Rams, Sullivan just couldn’t quite come back in the fourth suffering a close 46-49 loss.
“I am so proud of the fight in this team. Every time Shelbyville made a run, we responded.” commented coach Sheri McCain.
Izzy Hay led the Lady Redskins with 15 while Shae Ellis and Skyla Palmer each reached double digit scoring with 11 each. Addison Stollard and Kiley Dyer each drained a three. Dyer also pulled down ten rebounds as did Hay.
“We had some key freshmen step up tonight for us late in the second half.” said McCain, “Even though it was a tough loss, these girls are getting better every game.”
Lady Timberwolves topple LSA

Thanks to a strong third quarter, the Okaw Valley girls were able to come out with a tough 52-48 victory last Thursday in the LPC Conference Tournament. Mia Harris led the way with 24 points in the game.
Bailey Bennett reached double digits with 13, Megan Roley and Reagan Reedy each chipped in five, Rissa Montgomery scored four and Evelyn Ashley knocked down a free throw.
The Lady Timberwolves failed to take down Arcola in their Saturday night match-up of the tourney, dropping them to 9-15 on the season.
